The Jodhpur Initiative (TJI), a trust for advocating to the city administration planned technology-driven solutions of Re-building Jodhpur, announces the launch of its official website (www.thejodhpurinitiative.com). The objective of launching the TJI website is to increase awareness amongst the people of the City of Jodhpur on the challenges that the city is facing, and to seek inputs from the people of the city of Jodhpur to prepare stakeholder-driven solutions for the development of Jodhpur. In addition, the website will showcase the activities of TJI.
The Jodhpur Initiative was established on 9 February 2016 as an entity drawing competencies from Indian Institute Technology Jodhpur, Defence Laboratory Jodhpur, All India Institute of Medical Sciences Jodhpur, distinguished citizens of Jodhpur, and domain experts. TJI will engage with the process of multi-faceted urban transition of Jodhpur. A small beginning has been made on the journey of Re-building Jodhpur; today, some of the best known organisations, distinguished citizens and domain experts are supporting the endeavour of Re-building Jodhpur.
TJI has received unflinching support from the Jodhpur Administration, particularly Divisional Commssioner (Mr. Ratan Lahoti), JDC (Mr. K. L. Meena) and JMC (Mr. Arun K. Hasija). In response to the request from JDA, IIT Jodhpur submitted a proposal to prepare A Comprehensive Vision Document for Jodhpur (consistent with the Master Development Plan of 2031), Third Party Inspection System for ongoing and proposed constructions under Jodhpur Development Authority, and Comprehensive Mobility Plan for the City of Jodhpur. Also, TJI is signing MoUs with ARCOP (leading urban planning organization), RICS (a professional body that accredits professionals within the land, property and construction sectors worldwide), and Manipal University Jaipur (a leading socio-economics research institute). The Jodhpur Initiative is well focussed on meeting the larger goal of Re-building Jodhpur. And to remain active, it is necessary that TJI needs sustained engagement with the citizens of the city, invite on board inspired experts from different domains of urbanisation, and involve local business associations and NGOs.
Senior Members of the Press (print and electronic media) are cordially invited to this Launch Ceremony of the Website of The Jodhpur Initiative on 16 August 2016 at Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur. The program is attached overleaf.
